FAQ for developers

Before connecting GitHub, here are the answers that matter.

DevLog AI is built for GitHub webhook debugging, auditing, and operations. This FAQ explains how to use it, what remains private, where AI helps, and what changes at launch.

Using the product

How do I get started?

Create an account, open your workspace, copy the Payload URL and Secret, configure them in GitHub under Settings → Webhooks, then send a ping or push.

Do I need to install the GitHub App?

The first version works with a manual webhook per workspace. The official GitHub App is the recommended path for a cleaner, scalable installation.

Can I see other developers' webhooks?

No. Events belong to a workspace. You only access workspaces where you are a member, according to your role.

Can I use it for a local demo?

Yes. Use a public domain, HTTPS tunnel, or final environment. GitHub must be able to call the public endpoint.

Security and data

How is the signature validated?

The endpoint checks X-Hub-Signature-256 with the workspace or GitHub App Secret.

Are payloads public?

No. History stays in the authenticated workspace and is sanitized to reduce exposure of tokens and secrets.

Can I rotate a secret?

Yes. An owner or admin can create a new secret and update the GitHub webhook configuration.

How do I request data deletion?

Contact product support. During beta and the initial launch, requests may be handled manually by an administrator.

AI and plans

Where does AI help?

AI summarizes events, identifies risk, highlights signals, and suggests next steps so you do not have to read a large payload manually.

Is advanced AI free?

Local AI is included. Advanced AI uses an external provider, has a real cost, and is limited by plan or charged by usage.

How do limits work?

The dashboard shows events used, monthly limit, retention, and advanced AI consumption. Upgrades follow real usage.

Is pricing public?

The public page shows plan limits and regional availability. Paid plans are currently available in Brazil and billed in BRL through Mercado Pago.
